1. Why Hardeners Matter

When added to adhesives, primers, or water-based formulations, it reacts with the base resin to form a three-dimensional crosslinked network, significantly improving tensile strength, heat resistance, hydrolysis resistance, and long-term durability.

2. Main Types of Hardeners


(1) Hardener Used with Primer / Surface Treatment Agent

It effectively improves initial bonding strength, moisture resistance, and chemical stability.

·Notes: On rainy or highly humid days, increase the dosage as needed. Use the prepared mixture within 2 hours.


(2) Hardener for Water-Based Adhesives

In water-based systems, the hardener reacts with hydrophilic polymers to form crosslinked structures, improving film formation, water resistance, and heat resistance.
This enables environmentally friendly products to achieve industrial-grade performance.

·Usage: Add the hardener according to the formulation ratio and stir evenly until fully homogeneous.

·Notes: Store the hardener in a tightly sealed container to prevent moisture absorption or crystallization.


(3) Hardener Used with Solvent-Based Adhesives

In solvent-based or reactive adhesive systems — such as polyurethane, epoxy, and chloroprene adhesives — the hardener significantly improves bonding strength, heat resistance, and aging resistance.

·Usage: Add the hardener to the adhesive according to the specified ratio and mix thoroughly before application.

·Notes: On rainy or humid days, increase the dosage by approximately 1%. The mixed adhesive should be used within 4 hours.
After opening, aluminum containers must be tightly sealed to prevent crystallization or performance degradation.

3. General Guidelines for Using Hardeners

1. Mix thoroughly after adding the hardener to ensure complete and uniform curing.

2. Adjust dosage according to temperature and humidity conditions to avoid incomplete curing or excessive brittleness.
