Water-based adhesive is an eco-friendly alternative to traditional solvent-based adhesives. Solvent-based adhesives contain organic solvents such as toluene and acetone, which produce a sharp odor, are difficult to clean (requiring gasoline or nail polish remover), and release VOCs that pollute the air and harm health. In contrast, water-based adhesive uses water as its base, emits mainly water vapor, has almost no smell, and contains very low levels of VOCs. If it gets on your hands or the floor, simply rinse it off with water. Although it dries a bit slower and is not suitable for water-sensitive materials, it works excellently on porous materials like fabric, leather, paper, and certain plastics. Water-based adhesives are now widely used in sneakers, backpack straps, sofas, wallpapers, and many other everyday items, making them a true “green bonding expert” in modern industry.
