Product Introduction
E-TPU nylon primer N551 is specifically developed for lightweight foam substrates such as expanded nylon (commonly known as "popcorn" foam) and PEBA. It effectively activates the substrate surface and enhances adhesion, transforming these difficult‑to‑bond materials into a ready‑to‑bond state, ensuring strong and durable bonding in demanding production applications.
The biggest advantage of this primer is its tunable performance. By using different hardeners, it can adapt to various production needs. Following the standard formulation, adding 2–3% hardener R820 achieves ideal bonding results. When strict color stability is required-especially for white or light‑colored substrates-add 5–10% hardener F309, which significantly improves yellowing resistance and provides reliable protection against discoloration caused by UV exposure and environmental aging.
E-TPU nylon primer N551 offers excellent wetting and penetrating properties, allowing it to reach deep into the porous structure of foam materials for thorough and precise surface preparation. When used with PU or CR adhesives, it significantly improves bond strength, reduces the risk of bond failure, and enhances the flex resistance and impact resistance of the adhesive layer, thereby extending the service life of footwear and reducing rework.

Product Feature and Application
- Before use, add 2–3% hardener (R820) and mix thoroughly. The mixed product should be used within 2 hours.
- After cleaning the shoe material surface, apply this primer evenly using a brush or cloth.
- Drying time: Dry in an oven at 60±5°C for 3–5 minutes before applying adhesive.
- Apply the adhesive evenly and completely, avoiding insufficient coverage or excessive buildup.
